My First Picture Bible

These short stories and pictures will introduce children to the great heroes of the Bible. The most important biblical themes will first enter their lives to become more significant over time. Kenneth N. Taylor is known as the translator of the "Living Bible," but first and foremost, he is the author of children's books. Ken and his wife Margaret have ten children, and the first books were written for daily family devotions. So the manuscripts were published only after being approved by a dozen young critics! Among the books that two generations of children around the world have read are "The Picture Bible for Toddlers," "Prayer Reading for Children's Hour," "The Book of Living Bible Stories," and "Big Thoughts for Little People." Now that the Taylors' children have grown up, "My First Picture Bible" is written for future numerous grandchildren.
About the Artists
Richard and Frances Hook are the most famous illustrators of biblical stories in the 20th century. Their style is emulated by other modern illustrators. They work together: Richard draws men and backgrounds, while Frances draws women and children.
Throughout their lives, Richard and Frances Hook have drawn countless illustrations for biblical stories. Tyndale Publishing has received permission from Concordia and Standard Publishing to use some of the artists' works in this book, but for some stories in "My First Picture Bible," illustrations could not be found. They were made by three other artists in a style reminiscent of the famous illustrators.
