The main work of the French writer Marcel Proust (1871–1922) — the cycle of novels "In Search of Lost Time" — was created over fourteen years, up until the very end of his life.

This edition of "In Search of Lost Time" is published in the classic translation by M.N. Lyubimov, with the last, seventh volume in the translation by A.N. Smirnova. The structure of the work allows for various ways of reading: each book simultaneously represents both a link in the chain of the entire narrative and an autonomous creation.
