A Beginner's Guide to Detective Restorer

Astrid's life is successful: she restores paintings at the National Gallery and lives with her husband in London. But everything changes in an instant: first a divorce, and then... a mysterious inheritance in Dorset. Astrid heads west, but upon arrival... discovers that she has inherited not a seaside cottage, but an old boat.
Moreover, the "English Fund", at the estate of which she works, turns out to be a hotbed of intrigue, and then a local resident is found murdered in the area.
Astrid takes on the investigation, as for her it is akin to restoring a painting: peeling back layers to see the truth. But the number of deaths is rising, and she must use all her tools to unravel the mystery, save her reputation — and possibly even her life.
