Hide and Seek

The Great French Revolution rages in France, and the fates of three young women — the aristocrat Hortense, the factory worker Sophie, and her sister, the maid Lara — intertwine in the most peculiar way. After their father's death, the... sisters are forced to move from Marseille to the outskirts of Paris, where they take jobs at the factory of Wilhelm Oberst — known for its intricately designed wallpapers. Sophie falls in love with the owner's son, Joseph, who is infatuated with Lara — who reminds him of his mother, who died an untimely and mysterious death, the heroine of countless idyllic scenes on the old wallpapers — however, the young Oberst marries the Louvre native Hortense. The atmosphere in both the Oberst castle, the factory, and the closely revolutionary Paris becomes increasingly alarming. Each heroine has her own reasons to fear for her life and to hide. Will they manage to escape the bloody vortex of history?
