The Woman Who Lived by the Sea

Sicily, 1904. On the eve of her engagement, the young free-spirited Constanza learns that her father has committed suicide. The engagement is broken, and her relatives send the grief-stricken girl to New York - a city where many Italians move... in search of a better life. She settles with distant relatives and starts anew, experiencing painful longing for home. Only after moving to Naples does Constanza regain her ability to breathe and love.
