"Pulp" is Bukowski's last novel, his swan song - absolutely contraindicated for readers without a sense of humor! This is truly a special kind of spoof dedicated to "bad literature." The plot of the book is devoid of dynamics, devoid... of intrigue, devoid of everything, but precisely for that reason it is infinitely brilliant. The main merit of the novel is the narrative style. Descriptions and dialogues are filled with an atmosphere of dirt, violence, and fear. At the same time, Bukowski parodies genuine pulp fiction with literally every sentence. And although the author's style is simplified to the utmost, it is worth noting the amazing sense of humor that will surely appeal to readers who possess this sense.
