The action of the tale Dinka takes place in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century. The Arsenyev family spends the summer at a dacha near Samara. Eight-year-old Dinka gets bored spending whole days with her sisters and aunt.... Free-spirited and willful, she often sneaks away to the banks of the Volga, where due to her difficult nature, she constantly finds herself in a whirlwind of events. During one of these outings, the girl meets the orphan Lenka, who works for a cruel master. Thus, Dinka gains a friend for life.
