"Brahma-Vaivarta-Purana" is one of the 18 major Puranas, describing the unique deeds of the Lord and His pure devotees, as well as His eternal companions, who descended from Goloka. The Puranas were written by the great sage Srila Vyasadeva, the... literary incarnation of the Lord, in the form of ancient historical narratives for the enlightenment and upliftment of people in the Kali Yuga."Brahma Vaivarta Purana" is one of the eighteen main Puranas. The great sage Suta Goswami explains the "Brahma Vaivarta Purana" to an assembly of sages in the forest of Naimisharanya. It is divided into four parts. The first part describes the creation of the universe and all living beings. The second part, "Prakriti Khanda," describes various goddesses (or Shakti) that are embodiments of Prakriti. The third part, "Ganesha Khanda," is mainly devoted to the description of the life and deeds of Ganesha, while the last part, "Krishna Janma Khanda," contains the biography of Krishna. One of the features of the "Brahma Vaivarta Purana" is that Krishna is presented here not just as an avatar of Vishnu, but as the Supreme, Supreme God, Parabrahman, whose eternal abode is Goloka and who, along with Raseshwari (Radha), is the source of the cosmos. In all the Vedas and other scriptures, it is mentioned that Parabrahman is the original Supreme God, the Absolute Truth, but in this Purana, it is specifically stated that this Supreme God is Krishna. The "Brahma Vaivarta Purana" also asserts that Krishna is the original source of the Trimurti — Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, who are responsible for the creation, maintenance, and destruction of the universe.
