In Moscow, at the height of his powers, academician Nikolai Dolgonosov dies, the director of one of the largest research institutes. The doctors diagnose a massive heart attack, but the deceased's sister, Raisa, does not believe the doctors' conclusion. She... thinks that her brother was murdered for his inheritance, and the killer is Dalvida, the young wife of the academician. Raisa seeks the help of a famous private detective, Drongo. He takes on the investigation, understanding that the doctors are likely right, and the academician's death is in no way connected to crime. But soon his attitude toward the case changes: under mysterious circumstances, a close acquaintance of Dolgonosov dies, and Drongo's professional intuition suggests to him that this is not just a coincidence...
