The Gift to the Witch

The restless Dasha Kovalyova finds adventures again: one day, her grandmother gifted her felt boots, which Dasha did not like at all, for which they transported her to... 18th century Russia. There, Dasha meets the elder Luka ― a master of felting. He teaches the girl how to felt wool, make felt boots, and also tells her about pimas, chunyas, and cats. Everything was good until one day the witch Bobylikha appeared, who took a dislike to Dasha from the very first meeting. And then Dasha set herself a goal: to turn the evil witch into a kind, sweet old lady at all costs. But how to do that? Perhaps gifting her hand-felted and decorated felt boots?.. The book, intended for children aged 7 to 10, introduces readers to the wonderful craft of felting, tells about working with wool, and the products that can be made from it.
