The young Canadian Targa Mac'Oli lives in a small seaside town called Saltford. She studies well, is friends with three excellent girls, and sometimes goes out with boys—in short, she is no different from hundreds of other schoolgirls. With one... exception: Targa's mother, a specialist in surveying sunken ships, is not a woman, but... a mermaid, a remarkable primordial creature, fated to be stranded on land.
