The Good and Beautiful Life. Becoming Like Christ

"I have never met a person who set out to destroy their own life. We all seek happiness and constantly strive for it".  This is how the book by James Bryan Smith "The Good and Beautiful Life" begins. The problem... is, the author writes, that we have fallen for false notions of happiness and success. Our self-centered decisions plunge us deeper into a pit of vices that lead to destruction: anger, lust, lies, anxiety, and judgment. Eventually, we find that we are living a beautifully decorated life that is flowing towards self-destruction. Following the text of the Sermon on the Mount, this continuation of the book "The Good and Beautiful God" encourages us to look beyond the flaws of our character and replace our false beliefs with Jesus' narratives about life in the Kingdom of God.
