The first book in the series "Ancient Secrets of Chinese Medicine and Qigong" by Mikhail Davydov will tell you about working with wonderful meridians (WM). Today, not many books have been published on working with WM – one of the... oldest systems of psychophysical influence aimed at preserving and strengthening health, extending life, therapy, and disease prevention. The teaching about WM is an integral part of the theory and practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). However, this teaching also has an independent purpose, especially in the practices of psychophysical training of the Qigong system (the ancient name of the system is Dao Yin). The content of the book is based on the concepts of Eastern medicine, which differ from European canons. Western medicine is developing along the path of increasingly narrow specialization and focus towards the modernization of devices and equipment, with the aim of a more in-depth study of individual aspects of the human body. This is a natural progress of science, but it often results in weakness in practical terms, i.e. leading to low therapy effectiveness, overloading the patient's body with medications, thereby creating side effects. Chinese medicine offers a different approach, which can conditionally be called systemic-cybernetic, viewing the human body as a complex self-regulating system that is in dynamic balance with the surrounding environment. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, there are 12 main systems (meridians) and 8 large subsystems (wonderful meridians) in a person that interact with each other according to certain rules.
