The War of the Roses. Book 3. Right of Blood

Ambitious plans of the Duke of York have crumbled to dust, he himself is executed by enemies, and his head, wearing a paper crown, is mounted on a spike above the fortress wall. King Henry VI is still in captivity,... but Queen Margaret, at the head of a victorious multi-ethnic army, advances from the north, and it seems there is no force that could prevent her from taking London. However, having dealt with her father, Margaret has unleashed her sons. Edward March, the new Duke of York, declares himself King of England — king by right of blood. And thus alliances of aristocrats arise and dissolve, betrayals take place, and destinies are broken. The civil war seems to live its own life — and there are no grounds to hope that it will ever come to an end.
