Geometric Mosaic. Part 1. Story Pictures. Tasks for Children Aged 4-6

Mathematics for toddlers is not just counting, but also various geometric tasks. Repeating a pattern from a sample, assembling from construction pieces according to a scheme – this is also mathematics.
The sequence of working with any new geometric material is... as follows:
— first, free play to get acquainted with the pieces, "Think of whatever you want, create your picture";
— then performing tasks "Assemble by pattern from 2-3 pieces" (in this mosaic, the angles are not right, so even assembling a candy from three pieces is not always easy for children);
— then "Assemble according to a large colored scheme by overlaying" (placing pieces on top of the drawing);
— "Assemble according to a large black-and-white scheme and color each piece in the required colors";
— "Assemble according to a reduced colored scheme";
— "Assemble according to a reduced black-and-white scheme and color each piece in the required colors";
— "Think of your own picture and outline it";
— "Think of your own picture and draw it on triangular grids".
We are used to working with cubes, bricks, and other shapes that have right angles. The mosaic, in this regard, is much more complex and interesting, as the pieces have angles of 30, 60, 120, and 150 degrees.
