Ziva. The Goddess of Life and Love in Slavic Rituals and Myths. Book 2

This work is dedicated to one of the most famous and at the same time one of the least studied Slavic goddesses - Ziva. Realizing the entirety of folklore and ethnographic materials related to her, we can already say that... the situation has fundamentally changed, and the image of the goddess Ziva is quite clear to us. We can understand how our ancestors imagined her, what she presided over, what myths about Ziva were told, and what holidays were celebrated in her honor.The study examines the correspondence of other names and images from Slavic mythology with Ziva - Lelya, Zory, Krasopanya. Questions concerning the iconography of the goddess, her temples and priesthood, and other elements of the cult are raised. Reliable parallels with goddesses from the pantheons of Indo-European origins related to the Slavic peoples are drawn.The publication is intended for anyone interested in Slavic spiritual culture and, in particular, Russian paganism.
