Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is revered by his followers as the Supreme Personality of Godhead.The author of the poem, Srila Vrindavan Das Thakur, was a contemporary of Sri Chaitanya and a disciple of his closest associate, Nityananda Prabhu.The poem celebrates the first half of Mahaprabhu's life and is divided into three parts: "Adi-khanda", "Madhya-khanda", and "Antya-khanda". This edition presents the first part of the poem.The book contains the original Bengali text, transliteration (italicized), translation into Russian (in bold), and comments from Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur – a great thinker, preacher of Vaishnavism and religious reformer of the 19th century.The basis of the translation was the first edition of the book, published by Sri Chaitanya Gaudiya Math in 1987.
