Michel Lai shows the world through the eyes of an unusual person living in an unusual place. In the consciousness of the protagonist, reality is distorted in a whimsical way, but when reality from beyond the orphanage intrudes into his world, an involuntary question arises: is the world of the one who reads this book really that normal? About the author: Michel Lai is a Swiss writer, educator, and gallerist, holder of the Swiss National Prize, the Dantana Prize, and the listeners' prize of Swiss radio.
Today, Lai is the author of one and a half dozen novels translated into several European languages. "The Joyful Whining of an Idiot" is Lai's second book published in Russian.
