1888. Psychiatrist August Morgan arrives in Little Ocean under extraordinary circumstances. The small island town in the northwest of England is afflicted by an unknown disease — the locals suffer from unexplained insomnia, which leads to strange, frightening consequences. People... who have been tormented at night begin to disappear. The wife of the city's count, Norman Brooks, has also vanished after not sleeping for a long time. No trace of the woman could be found. Now insomnia and nightmares torment Brooks' little daughter. Doctor Morgan tries to make sense of the situation, but soon realizes that he too is being pursued by a mysterious ailment. Perhaps this disease goes far beyond the competence of an ordinary psychiatrist…
