Dear adults!
Activities with cards will help you introduce the child to the surrounding world; develop speech skills; teach to compare, classify, and summarize.
From 6 months:
Show the cards quickly, clearly naming the illustrated item. Show the set for several days, then...
replace it with a new one. After some time, repeat the showing.
From 3 years:
Play with the child:
o Discuss with the child how birds differ from other animals, what
characteristics can help identify them.
o Describe any bird depicted in the pictures in detail, without naming it.
Suggest that the child guess who you are talking about and find the corresponding
card. Then switch places with the child: they describe - you guess.
o Take turns with the child answering the question: "Which one?" regarding each
bird, try to provide as many answers as possible; find common and distinguishing features
of all the birds depicted on the cards.
o If the child is already learning to read, cut off the titles, mix them up, and suggest
matching the titles to the pictures.
o With several sets, you can play logical games:
- classification (sort cards by theme, match with a general title);
- the odd one out (from four cards: three on one theme and one on another, the child must choose the odd one and explain their choice).
They can be used in individual and group work by speech therapists, psychologists, preschool educators, and elementary school teachers.
