Kumon. Measures of Length

The workbook "Kumon. Measures of Length" will introduce the child to the concepts of "length" and "units of measurement". With the help of this resource, the child will: master the concepts of "longer", "shorter"; learn to measure the length of... objects in centimeters and millimeters; review oral counting up to 100 and practice writing numbers. The tasks in the workbook are structured from simple to complex and come in three types: Tasks for determining which is longer/shorter. In these tasks, the child must determine from the picture which object is longer, which is shorter, and which is the longest, shortest, and medium. For this, they apply logical thinking. Oral counting and writing numbers tasks. In these, the child will review counting up to 100 and remember how to write those numbers. Length determination tasks. In these, the child will practice determining the length of objects in centimeters and millimeters multiple times based on the values shown by the ruler displayed on the page. This skill is very important for both daily life and further study of mathematics. How to proceed? To complete the tasks, a simple pencil will be needed. Determine in advance how many pages the child will work on each day (for example, two or four). Do not forget that it is better to finish when they want to continue practicing a little more. Offer the child tasks in order so they can complete them without difficulty. Some exercises in the workbook have answers. They are printed on adjacent pages in reversed text. Check the correctness of the tasks immediately so that mistakes do not become ingrained. Praise the child after completing each exercise. You can mark their success, for example, by making a note on the page saying "Well done" or by sticking a reward sticker.
