Belgrade Trio

Yugoslavia, late 1940s. The brilliant writer and notorious adventurer Lawrence Durrell, the older brother of the famous naturalist Gerald Durrell, is sent to work at the British embassy in Belgrade with a special political mission. However, his mission goes off... the rails from the very beginning. First, the country is rife with spies. Second, a new woman appears in the life of the newly married Durrell, who must be rescued from prison and death. The line between fiction and historical truth in Marković's novel is woven into an incredibly poignant story of a love triangle in the era of dictatorship.
