Ladushki

Folk tales, songs, and nursery rhymes are the classic children's literature that marks a child's entry into the world of words and images. Generation after generation listens to the tale of the magpie, the little goats, and the burning cat's... house, and it seems that nothing more understandable and wise has been written for toddlers. The illustrations by Yuri Vasnetsov are also memorable — simple, resembling children's drawings, and therefore very touching. Children find it very interesting to examine Vasnetsov's little animals and discuss them. Just like the folk lines themselves, the artist's drawings are remembered 'from zero and for a lifetime.'
