Probably, none of the sciences studied in school disappoints as much as geography. Students expect exciting stories about travels. Because geographers only travel. And where there are travels, there are adventures… How can there be no adventures? The author wants... to immediately and with all his straightforwardness to warn readers that this book is absolutely not suitable for passing geography exams. And it is impossible to become the Chief Geographer of Modernity after reading it. The book has somewhat different tasks — to make readers friends with geography, to help understand the subtleties of this science, to teach how to look at our planet with the eyes of an informed person. “Zero boredom, maximum interest!”, that's our slogan!
