In modern St. Petersburg, amateur detective Nadezhda Lebedeva finds herself caught in a whirlwind of dangerous events. In the Hermitage, she is drawn to an unusual exhibit — a gold coin, the oldest of those discovered. An unknown person steals the coin, and the next day, the charred body of the main suspect is found. All leads point to a mysterious man who seems to have deceived time itself.
