1930s. America is torn apart by the economic crisis. According to the government's assurances, the Great Depression is behind us, yet thousands of people who have lost their jobs and homes still roam the country in search of any work,... even the most difficult and thankless. Many are rushing to California, where labor is in high demand during the harvest season. However, in the midst of the season, employers shamelessly lower rates, taking advantage of the desperate situation of seasonal fruit pickers – they simply don’t have the money for a return trip. Outraged by the injustice and constant oppression, workers are preparing a strike. But the other side is preparing too…
