own state there! They will learn what a polis is, which gods the ancient Greeks worshipped, and what enemies they fought against. The goal of the game is to be the first to gather your city-state - polis - and get a suitable god-patron for this polis.
And you can continue to learn about the history of Ancient Greece in the pages of the new children's encyclopedia "We Live in Ancient Greece".
The goal of the game: be the first to gather your city-state - polis and get a suitable god-patron for this polis.
Game Rules.
Cards are placed face down in the center of the table. The youngest player starts the game. He takes a card from the deck, shows it to the other players, and acts further depending on the card drawn (see below).
Then, the other players take their turns in a clockwise direction.
For each turn, the player must take one card from the deck. Depending on the card drawn, the player then decides whether to take another card or skip their turn.
- The player drew a "polis" card.
If the player has not yet started building their polis, they place the card in front of themselves and begin to build that specific polis. This is only possible if no other player has started gathering the same polis yet.
If the player has already started building a polis and drew another card of their polis, they use it for construction. In this case, they do not draw another card from the deck.
If the player has already started building a polis and drew a foreign polis card, they place this card next to themselves and have the right to draw another card from the deck.
- The player drew a "god" card.
If the player drew their own god or goddess card, they place it next to the polis cards. A foreign deity card is placed next to themselves. Over time, another player may buy it for "coins".
- The player drew a "coin" card.
They place it next to themselves and gain the right to draw another card from the deck. With these "coins", the player can buy the necessary part of the "polis" or "god" from another player: three "coins" are exchanged for one polis card or for a god-patron card. The card seller is not allowed to refuse the buyer.
The player has the right to buy no more than one card per turn, and in this turn, they cannot draw a card from the deck.
- The player drew a "hoplite" card.
They place it to their right and gain the right to draw another card from the deck.
- The player drew a "bandit" card.
Unfortunately! The player must pay off the "bandit" with three cards (these can be "coins" and polis cards) or defend themselves with one "hoplite". The cards for payment or defense, along with the "bandit" itself, are placed in a common "discard" pile by the player. After this, the turn passes to the next player.
When the deck runs out, the played cards from the "discard" are shuffled and placed face down in the center of the table - this is the new deck.
The winner is the one who is the first to completely gather their polis and its god-patron from 6 cards. Number of players: from 2 to 5
