House of Lights

Donato Carrisi is a well-known Italian writer and screenwriter, a specialist in criminalistics and behavioral sciences, laureate of the Italian Bancarella Prize (2009), the French Prix SNCF du polar (2011), and others, author of bestsellers translated into over 30 languages... and sold in millions of copies. He himself adapted three of his books for film: "The Girl in the Fog" (2017), "The Girl in the Labyrinth" (2019), and "I Am the Abyss" (2022). "House of Lights" is a continuation of his brilliant novels "House of Voices" and "House Without Memories." In the house on the hill lives a ten-year-old girl named Eva — without parents, but with a housekeeper and a Finnish student, who is also her nanny, Maija Salo. Eva also has an imaginary friend, and what this friend says and does raises concerns. Maija turns to Pietro Gerber, a Florentine hypnotist who works with traumatized children — he himself is not in the best psychological state after the events of the previous novels, but there is no one else to help Eva. Gerber takes on the case — and it turns out that Eva's imaginary friend knows too much about Gerber. This mysterious friend even knows the circumstances surrounding Gerber's death many, many years ago...
