The collection "Blue Kangaroo" includes four colorful stories by British artist Emma Chichester Clark about a girl named Lily and her best friend - Blue Kangaroo.In the first story, titled "Blue Kangaroo! Hey!", Lily manages to lose her favorite pet... three times in three days - at the playground, on the bus, and at the zoo. Fortunately, there are kind-hearted people around who return him to his scatterbrained owner. But when Blue Kangaroo learns that Lily plans to take him with her to the river, his patience runs out and he hides from her. The whole family searches for Blue Kangaroo - first in the house, then in the garden. Meanwhile, Blue Kangaroo quietly sits in the pocket of Lily's robe, waiting for her to find him. Everything ends well, but now, whenever Lily goes somewhere, she puts Blue Kangaroo in her "bag" on her hip. This way, he will never get lost again!In the second story "It's all Blue Kangaroo's fault!", Lily blames all her mischief on Blue Kangaroo. Someone left the tap running in the kitchen? Scared the cat? Hurt little brother Jack? Threw things out the window? Blue Kangaroo is to blame for everything! "If that's the case, let him stay alone and think about his behavior," decides Mom and puts Blue Kangaroo on a shelf that Lily can't reach. At night, sitting on the shelf, Blue Kangaroo thinks about how to apologize both for himself and for Lily. And one thought comes to his mind...In the third story "One, two, three! Blue Kangaroo, look!", Lily does all sorts of things to get attention. And she doesn't listen when people say: "Lily, enough! Stop!". And Blue Kangaroo has to watch this. Eventually, due to another of Lily's antics, he goes from being a silent observer to an active participant. He finds himself in a tree, hanging from a branch, holding on for dear life, and then he falls to the ground from a height. It's dark around, there's a hole in his tail! In the morning, Lily sees her favorite with a bandaged tail and joyfully runs to him. But Mom says she won't give Lily Blue Kangaroo until she sees that Lily can be good and obedient. All day, Lily tries to behave well, and in the evening she promises Mom and Blue Kangaroo that there will be no more tricks!In the fourth story "Blue Kangaroo, come up with a game for me!", Lily draws dinosaurs, arranges a tea party for her plush animals on the lawn, reads a book to Blue Kangaroo, saves her toys from the rain, helps Dad calm little brother Jack - and she does all this by herself! And Blue Kangaroo looks at her and thinks: "What a great game!"Blue Kangaroo is not just a toy. He helps Lily, and along with her, the little reader, to look at themselves from the side.
