Tale of Life

For a long eighteen years, Konstantin Paustovsky worked on the autobiographical "Tale of Life." This voluminous work details the author's life from early childhood until the early thirties, when Paustovsky first felt like a successful writer and left his job... for a literary career. His first earnings and initial writing experiences, the war — in which Konstantin Georgievich served as a medic and lost both of his brothers in one day — the revolution, working as a journalist, and finally, the well-deserved recognition. On the pages of "Tale of Life," the author's personal achievements and experiences intertwine with the social upheavals and transformation of the country in which he lived.
