Matilda

Matilda's dad is always on business trips, from where he brings her gifts and sweets that can't be bought at the corner store back home in Santiago. Matilda's dad often leaves for work, so he misses all the parent-teacher meetings.... Matilda's dad is an engineer and builds bridges in other countries. He cannot return, but Matilda visits him whenever she wants.
Matilda repeated this made-up story so often that she learned it by heart and believed in it herself. But the truth about her father's disappearance is frightening and dangerous; it cannot be told — to anyone and never. Matilda's mom and grandma try their best not to take away her carefree childhood and not to involve her in adult affairs, but Matilda cannot stay aside, even though she desperately wants to live a normal life like other children.
