The story revolves around the adventures of German soldier Heinrich Augsburg in the afterlife. Tormented by feelings of guilt first for betraying the ideals he serves and then for betraying his beloved, he perishes on the Eastern Front. Shot in... the forehead, Heinrich finds himself in Resurrection, a planet where our familiar world is reflected in a warped mirror of decadence. Time flows backward there, raging seas of fire replace the earthly continents, high technology serves obscurantism, and each person is embodied in some form of the undead, depending on the nature of their deeds committed in earthly life. By chance, the main hero avoids immediate death at the hands of zombie marauders who greet resurrected soldiers from all epochs. Heinrich undergoes training on the dark side of the Moon, takes an oath to the Lords of Infinity, and thus joins the ranks of knight-vampires. They are the elite of Resurrection. In this Dantesque purgatory, descendants and ancestors, hunters and victims, ordinary people and historical figures often meet, sometimes switching roles. There are no innocents here; Resurrection, like a cauldron, seethes with wars and political conspiracies against the backdrop of the unending enmity of the Gods of Limbo and the Lords of Infinity. Moreover, a powerful cataclysm approaches - the Great Cosmic Tide.
