A personal tragedy has completely unsettled Kate North, so when she gets the chance to replace a doctor at a research station in Antarctica, she happily accepts, hoping it will help her come to her senses. A change of scenery... seems like the perfect solution for Kate. Even despite the fact that her predecessor, Doctor Jean-Luc, died as a result of an accident... And even though the polar station is not a paradise oasis, here, on the edge of the earth, she will at least be able to hide from the memories tormenting her and devote herself entirely to work.
