But the hero of Chukovsky had a predecessor whose adventures have long become one of the most beloved books in the world!
The fairy tale by Hugh Lofting about the amazing Doctor Dolittle is adapted in this edition using Ilya Frank's method: it is provided with a literal translation into Russian and necessary lexical and grammatical comments (without simplifying the text of the original). The uniqueness of the method lies in the fact that memorization of words and expressions occurs through their repetition, without rote learning and the need to use a dictionary. Moreover, the reader becomes accustomed to the logic of the English language, starting to 'feel' it.
