Maxim Shustov, a 19-year-old journalism student, hopes to uncover the mystery of the painting "Mansion on Prechistenka," inherited from his long-lost father - one of the founders of the antique shop "Isida." Maxim wants to write a research report, but... ultimately finds himself drawn into a dangerous detective story. Soon he involves his friends: the quiet classmate Dima, the energetic and self-confident Anya, as well as a new acquaintance, Kristina, whose family has suffered because of the painting's secrets. The characters quickly realize that their investigation will take them very far. So far that they will end up in Indian slums, the forests of Sri Lanka, the mountains of Little Tibet, and beyond.
