Criminal observer of the Press Center of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Moscow Region Ekaterina Petrovskaya, along with Colonel Gushchin, becomes involved in the investigation of the brutal massacre of the family of the famous writer Klavdiya... Pervomayskaya. 'The Last Great Children's Classic' was killed the day before her hundredth anniversary together with her daughter and granddaughter at a dacha in the well-known settlement of domestic intelligentsia 'Bright Path'. Katya and Colonel Gushchin will have to unravel the dark knot of secrets that surrounded the ambiguous personality of Pervomayskaya throughout her life, who wrote poems and fairy tales for children and simultaneously penned dozens of denunciations during the USSR era. What could have caused such an inhuman crime? And who was the primary target of the murderer — the hundred-year-old writer herself or someone among her loved ones?..
