Riding on a Cat

«Mom, it’s too boring at home. Just one word — swamp!» — one morning declared the little kikimora Iriska. And she decided that she urgently needed a friend, a pet. A crocodile or a swamp gnome? No! Mom only agreed... to a cat, and Iriska set off to find one... in the swamp? A challenging task! What does this cat look like and where should she look for it? And if Iriska does find this peculiar creature, will it agree to be friends with her and even live in the house of kikimoras?
Alexandra Khorost, a prize winner of the Korneichuk Festival of Children’s Literature in the nomination «Prose for Younger Children», a semifinalist of the V. Krapivin Prize, and author of more than 15 books, wrote a funny and somewhat lyrical story about the adventures of kikimora Iriska and the Cat, while Sveta Oleynikova (a graduate of the British Higher School of Design) created stunning illustrations for it.
