The creative legacy of Leonardo da Vinci includes hundreds of architectural drawings – mainly sketches and drafts with rare notes in the margins, most of which are closely interconnected. This part of da Vinci's graphic heritage reflects different stages of... his conceptual reflections and still provokes heated debates among researchers of the history of architecture. The proposed book examines the direct and indirect connections of the maestro with his contemporaries and the dynamics of the dissemination of his architectural ideas. The authors hope that their research will contribute to a clear definition of Leonardo's role at the dawn of the Modern Age, which had a beneficial influence on all forms of art, and will present a more complete picture of Leonardo's relationships with his clients.
