Julia Kristeva and Philippe Sollers are an extraordinary pair of French intellectuals of the 20th century, bringing together almost all the famous thinkers of the 20th century. Marriage, viewed as a work of art, combines four dialogues (from 1990 to 2014) between Julia Kristeva and Philippe Sollers, through which they reveal to the reader the experience of progressive intellectuals on the meeting of love and relationships as such. Philippe Sollers and Julia Kristeva are an example of a union of two outstanding personalities, where both individuals complement each other. Neither Philippe nor Julia overshadow each other; on the contrary, they complement one another. As Sollers and Kristeva themselves say: "A dialogue has developed between us that has not been interrupted; we continue a conversation that does not cease because it is full of disagreements." The book shows that a union based on the multifaceted aspects of love and mutual understanding still requires personal work and an ongoing dialogue between partners.
