This is the story of a young woman, Patience, whose promising future is interrupted by a mysterious murder, and her husband Jack, who travels through time with the obsessive idea of saving his beloved. Using the genre of science fiction as a foundation, Clowes addresses timeless questions: love, death, family, parenting, revenge, the nature of time and space.
