Hiding the truth about her mental state and creating the appearance of complete health and well-being is the most challenging task that Natalie Cordova has ever faced. She is in her senior year, studying painting, and she has just been... selected as a participant in a prestigious art event. But this stress alone proves to be insufficient. Natalie meets a guy who makes her heart race. Then, a tenth grader named Ella reminds the protagonist of the "accident" that happened to her during the summer and forces Natalie to adopt the ugliest dog in the world from the shelter. Natalie finds herself burdened with various types of responsibility, and her heart is overflowing with a range of emotions. And, of course, it's all due to the new medication prescribed by her doctor. However, as Natalie's plans for self-healing begin to unravel, so does the perfect facade she has built for those around her.
