The Afterlife and Burial Customs of the Slavs

Every element of the funeral and commemorative rituals is initially full of deep meaning, as it reflects the picture of the world in which people, according to their beliefs, live. The attitude towards death, towards any death, as well as... the accompanying burial rituals since ancient times — is a key marker that not only shows us the level of development of society, but also helps to recreate the notion of the essence of a person and their purpose. 

This book includes two significant works from the turn of the 19th to the 20th centuries — "The Afterlife According to Ancient Russian Beliefs" by A.N. Sobolev and "Sleds, Boats, and Horses as Attributes of Funeral Rites" by D.N. Anuchin, which were quite significant for their time and still evoke considerable interest and retain value.
