Nine-Something

"Nine-Something" is a collection of texts by Viktor Shenderovich, written in different (very different) years and becoming an artistic interpretation of several epochs in Russian life. Shenderovich tries to answer the question of why the country has never emerged from... slavery and at what moment we stopped hearing the alarming signals. "I turned out to be a so-so Pimen," the author confesses, "but the reagent has turned out quite well. Much is clearly visible through these texts, and from a distance, it has become even clearer." The collection includes several previously unpublished stories, aphorisms, poems, and scripts. And who is "nine-something"? Why, it's Shenderovich himself, of course, who else?
