The monograph contains a study of that stage in the history of Russian-Polish relations that is associated with the intervention of the Polish-Lithuanian state at the beginning of the 17th century in the domestic political life of Russia. Special attention... is paid to the reaction of Russian society as a whole and of its individual layers to the actions of Polish-Lithuanian politicians and Polish-Lithuanian troops. In the appendix to the work, a characterization of the image of the Pole that was formed in Russian society under the influence of the experienced events is provided.
