Ishvara-Gita

Ishvara-Gita is an ancient Hindu philosophical text from the Kurma Purana. The Ishvara-Gita contains many interesting themes that are absent in the Bhagavad-Gita, such as the worship of the linga of Shiva and the idea of Shiva as the supreme... God. The philosophy of the Ishvara-Gita is rooted in the tradition of Vedic Puranas and has no tantric connotations. It is based on the philosophy of Vedanta, Sankhya, and Yoga, which have merged into a harmonious whole in this text. Nevertheless, Vedantic thought predominates in the Ishvara-Gita, and the unity of Atman and Brahman is presented in a clear and bold manner. The Ishvara-Gita also discusses the supreme eightfold yoga of Brahman, which has similarities with the yogic system of Patanjali.
