Who is this game for?For those who prefer duel confrontations. Essence of the Game"Warriors of Sakura. First Steps" presents a battle of two minds, with a huge variety of strategies. With each battle, you will discover something new for yourself. With 6 asymmetric characters, you can study the game for a long time, refining tactics and perfecting your strategies.The game itself takes place in three stages:"Choosing the megami", "Building a deck", and "Duel under the sakura".
Choosing the megami. At this stage, you choose two megami whose powers you will use. Each player selects two megami for the duel, the powers of which will be utilized in this duel.Building a deck. After studying the megami chosen by your opponent, you create a deck that you will play with. Secretly from your opponent, choose 7 regular cards and 3 special cards from your available cards. If you find it difficult to create your own deck, you can use examples of ready-made decks. After selecting the cards, place 7 regular cards face down in a pile (this will be your deck) next to the game field, and place the 3 special cards separately face down. You can check your special cards at any time.Duel under the sakura. After both players have built their decks, the duel begins on the game field. The current state of the battlefield is determined by 36 sakura petals located in different game areas. For example, if there are a total of 5 sakura petals in the "Distance" area, then the distance between you and your opponent is 5. By controlling the distance, you can use attacks with the appropriate range value to reduce your opponent's health points.Are you, warriors of sakura, ready to duel?
"Warriors of Sakura. First Steps" features the following megami: Tokoyo. She embodies art and eternity. A strict critic and artist who highly values tradition and classicism. Although she is not inclined to duels – it seems she does not know how to lose – she shares her power with her chosen one. She specializes in interrupting opponent's attacks and responding to them. She can disrupt the opponent's plans by skillfully using cancels, defense, and evasion. On the other hand, her main attacks cannot be defended against with aura. Let her flutter in attack like a butterfly, sting at vulnerable spots like a bee, and showcase a beautiful fighting style.
Himika. She embodies fire and commands powerful and wild forces of nature. Being open and loving toward people, she has many friends. She loves everything new and fun, enlivening the atmosphere... but, unfortunately, she is a bit foolish. Himika specializes in long-range attacks from pistols. Since the duel starts at maximum distance in this game, she can launch an attack before anyone else and quickly gain an advantage. She is characterized by strong strikes and playing a large number of cards. Overwhelm your opponent with a torrent of combo attacks!
Yurina. The goddess of martial arts of the current era, originally a human named Amané Yurina. She took the post of megami at the end of the "Tale of Heroes," and later led the period known as the "Sakura Rain Era." She loves to win and enjoys duels immensely. However, outside of battle, she is clumsy, and her femininity is about 3/10. She embodies the core strategy of this game, namely "Approach and Attack," and is characterized by a traditional and harsh fighting style. Great for learning the basics. She has various attack tools: condition checks, powerful moves, and strong strikes, so if you want to achieve great heights with her, you need to understand how to best use all these techniques.
Saine. Originally she was a human – Hisame Saine, a blind master and sworn rival of Amané Yurina. At the end of the "Tale of Heroes," she was resurrected as one of the new megami. Like her rival, she embodies the fundamental idea of "Approach and Attack." However, unlike Yurina, she specializes in fast multi-attacks and counterattacks. Most of her cards have a variant for each of her sides, and their effects change depending on the personality. The most important change is the range. Oboro. A biological researcher, she seeks complete understanding of nature and existence in harmony with it. Due to her stoic self-improvement and search for truth, many people have gathered around her, and the ninja path was born in this world. Compared to other megami, she is very wise. In other words, a worldly sage. Basic actions, such as closing in and distancing, require discarding cards face down as payment, but Oboro can use discarded face-down cards as traps. Aside from gaining advantages from basic actions, she can achieve additional advantages in battle. Demonstrate cunning and ingenuity.
