Living Ingenuity. A Collection of Open Development Tasks for Children and Their Parents with Solution Analysis

This collection of tasks contains open-ended questions based on fairy tales and real-life situations. It is intended for parents to engage with children aged 4 to 11, as well as for older schoolchildren who wish to enhance their creativity. This collection... will be of interest to older individuals as well, since the captivating plots leave no one indifferent, as they represent open-ended tasks. These tasks are called open-ended because there is more than one way to solve them and multiple answers. Solving such tasks allows overcoming mental inertia and developing creativity and mental flexibility. Each task is accompanied by actual responses from people of various ages who eagerly solved and reasoned about them. Each response is also evaluated with explanations and recommendations on how to further develop the solution, what knowledge can be acquired during such reasoning processes. However, these are not the only options for responses and not always the best ones, as technology evolves, perspectives change, and new resources are added. The collection of tasks allows parents to spend time productively with their children, helping them develop their thinking, and fosters the habit in parents to independently find open-ended tasks based on situations, objects, and events familiar to the child. The collection can be used as a guide for working with open-ended tasks based on TRIZ pedagogy tools, as well as a wonderful entertainment that helps bring children and parents closer together.
