Every person has their star hour, the main event that colors their entire existence with the light of truth. For the inhabitant of Ancient Egypt, such an event was burial. The whole life of an ancient Egyptian served as preparation... for the great journey to the afterlife. It was with death that the true assessment of actions undertaken during the brief earthly existence came, eternally determining the future of the soul of a resident of the Nile valley. Therefore, the Book of the Dead, which was placed in the coffin of every deceased, can rightfully be called the main book of the ancient Egyptian.
