For the sixth grader Danila, life is just okay: he is growing up without a mother, has a complicated relationship with his adoptive father, and is having problems at school. But one day, an indomitable grandmother named Emma appears at... home and changes everything for the better: she not only skillfully cooks manti, but also brings warmth and order to both the uncomfortable apartment and the confused soul of the schoolboy. And during the holidays in the seaside town, a miracle happens: Danila meets Alya, a mysterious girl with a strange hobby — burying dead animals. 
The manuscript of this book won the nomination "Choice of the Winner of the Last Season — Mary Malmi" in the IV season of the Literary Competition "White Crows." The cover won in the II season of the illustrators' competition "Super Cover."
