Tang short stories

The cultural heritage of the Chinese people is great and multifaceted. One part of this heritage is literature, the history of which goes back two and a half millennia. The time of the Tang Empire (VII - X centuries) occupies... a special place in Chinese literature. The Tang period in the history of Chinese literature was marked by the appearance of the short story, the “Tang short story.” They became popular among the people in the form of folk tales and songs, and the themes of many short stories (mostly love stories) formed the basis for dramas of the 13th-16th centuries. Tang novelists wrote many bright pages into the treasury of literature of their great people.
